Elizabeth Cady Stanton

Found this interesting bit on a history blog search.

Elizabeth Cady Stanton was one of the first women in America to fight for women’s rights.  She expected them to be able to vote, but also to be considered equals in marriage, custody of children, and many other facets of life that are taken for granted now.  Her early work found her in the same circles as Susan B. Anthony, whom she mentored.  The two of them spearheaded the fight for female suffrage and went a long way to enabling women that right.
